Steps
- Drop one or many images onto the page (JPG / PNG / WebP / AVIF / GIF / BMP supported)
- Pick the output format: JPEG (best compatibility), WebP (smaller at same quality), AVIF (smallest, modern browsers), PNG (lossless with alpha)
- Set the quality slider — 75-80 is the sweet spot for JPEG/WebP/AVIF (PNG is lossless and ignores the slider)
- Click Start — the browser compresses every file locally in parallel, with a per-file progress indicator

FAQ
- Are my images uploaded to your server?
- No. Every byte stays on your device — compression runs in your browser via WebAssembly. We never see your photos. This is fundamentally different from cloud services like TinyPNG.
- Will compression visibly hurt quality?
- JPEG / WebP at quality 80+ is visually indistinguishable from the original on most screens. PNG uses lossless OxiPNG — bytes shrink 20-40% while pixels stay identical. Quality 60 is web-tolerable and shrinks files dramatically.
- Which formats are supported?
- Inputs: JPG / JPEG / PNG / WebP / AVIF / GIF / BMP. Outputs: JPEG / PNG / WebP / AVIF. For HEIC (iPhone format), use our HEIC-to-JPG tool first.
- How many images can I compress at once?
- There's no hard limit, only browser memory. A typical laptop handles 50-100 files under 5MB without issue; very large files (20MB+) work but slow the UI — split into batches.
- AVIF or WebP — which should I pick?
- AVIF is ~30-50% smaller than WebP at equal quality, but older Safari versions don't decode it. WebP is supported everywhere modern. For websites, use WebP. For personal archives, AVIF saves the most space.
