FAQ

EAN-13 vs UPC-A?

EAN-13 = international, 13 digits, leading 3 digits = country code (US 000-019, EU 400-440, China 690-699). UPC-A = North America, 12 digits. Choose based on your retail market.

Can I just generate retail barcodes?

Technically yes, but for use in real point-of-sale systems, you need a registered code from GS1 (the global standards body). Self-generated codes work only for internal inventory / asset tags, not retail.

How do I generate an ISBN barcode?

Pick ISBN, enter the 13-digit ISBN (assigned by your country's national library). Self-generated ISBNs aren't valid for real publishing — only for internal projects.

PNG or SVG?

SVG for print labels (vector, scales lossless). PNG for screens or simple labels.

Batch generate different codes?

This tool is single-code. For batch generation, script the API or use a database-driven tool.
