FAQ
- Why not just scan with my phone?
- The QR is on a computer screen and your phone can't read it through display glare; or it's an emailed screenshot you can't physically point a camera at. This tool decodes from the image directly.
- Is decoded data uploaded?
- Never. QR content may contain payment codes, login tokens, or private URLs — strictly local.
- QR not detected — why?
- Common causes: image too small / blurry; QR partially occluded; perspective distortion; insufficient contrast. Provide a clear front-facing image.
- QR types supported?
- Standard QR codes (URL / text / WiFi / vCard / SMS / email). For Code 128, EAN-13, or other linear barcodes, you'd need a different decoder.
- Is the decoded URL safe to click?
- Decoding only reveals content — the URL itself may be phishing or malware. Verify the source before clicking. Be especially cautious of QR codes from unknown senders.
